City of Torrance

Situation:
The city was looking to update their quarterly newsletter, Infobits, with a fresh new look, as well as engage their city employees with fun, interesting content. The newsletter was originally a long-form PDF.

Our Strategy:
We decided to go with a digital email version, as well as create a PDF version for those who preferred the old format. We also increased the frequency to six times/year, with a smaller newsletter. The EDK team was responsible for writing, designing, editing, and producing all content, as well as publishing through Constant Contact. The team also attended and covered events for the city.

Results:
The city has seen a 51% open rate average for the newsletter since implementing the email version in February of 2017, which is above the industry open rate of 23%.
